Vintage Shirts

Button-up shirts, picked one at a time. Denim, work shirts and short-sleeve styles, at the heavier end of what people really wore rather than anything formal.

A button-up shows a bad fit straight away, so this is where the measurements matter most. Older shirts were generally cut boxier through the body with a fuller sleeve, so the same labelled size can feel roomier round the middle while pulling across the shoulders. Have a look at the chest and shoulder numbers we've listed. On any shirt this old the collar points, cuffs and buttons wear first, and we photograph all three before a piece goes on sale.

Shirts come through most often via vintage FUBU, vintage Dickies and vintage Ecko Unltd. Everything else sits in the full range.

Common questions

How does vintage shirt sizing compare to modern?
Older shirts tend to be boxier in the body and fuller in the sleeve, so they feel roomier through the middle but can pull across the shoulders. The chest and shoulder measurements we've listed are the numbers to trust.

Do you check collars and cuffs for wear?
Yes, always. Collar points and cuff edges are where a shirt goes first, so we inspect and photograph both on every piece, and any fraying goes into the description.

Can I return a shirt if it doesn't fit?
Every piece is one-of-a-kind, so all sales are final. That's exactly why we measure each garment flat and publish the numbers. If you're stuck between sizes, get in touch through the contact page before you order and we'll help.
