Vintage Shorts

Denim, cargo and sports shorts, one of each and never restocked. It's a small collection on purpose, because shorts turn up far less often than tops in the places we buy from.

Most pieces here are labelled in waist inches, which makes them easier to buy online than a top. Shorts from the 80s and 90s were cut a lot longer through the leg than you'd expect today, especially the sports and basketball styles, so check the inseam we've listed if length matters to you. As with all our trousers, we measure the waist flat rather than taking the label's word for it.

Most of these come through vintage Nike, vintage FUBU and vintage Umbro. Everything else is in the full range.

Common questions

Do vintage shorts run longer than modern ones?
Generally yes, especially the sports and basketball styles from the 90s, which sat below the knee by design. We list the inseam on every pair so you can check rather than guess from the photos.

How do I know the waist will fit?
Use the measured waist we've listed rather than the labelled size. We measure every pair flat, because an old garment rarely still matches the number printed on its tag.

Why's this collection so small?
Shorts come through far less often than tops, and we only list the ones worth wearing. It grows in bursts rather than steadily, so it's worth checking back rather than assuming what's here today is all we'll ever have.
