Licensed hockey and gridiron tees. Despite the name, Trench is a sportswear label rather than a coat maker, and everything that reaches us under it is a printed team shirt: NHL and NFL club graphics from the 90s on heavyweight cotton.
Team tees from this era are bought for the print, and the print is what decides the condition too. Screen printing from the 90s cracks and softens as it ages, and a shirt with light cracking through a graphic is normal rather than damaged. What we do photograph and describe is anything beyond that: lifting, flaking or a missing section. The cotton itself is heavier than a modern tee and usually cut shorter in the body.
For team and sports prints, browse vintage t-shirts. For the same era from a bigger name, see vintage Nike.
Common questions
Is Trench a clothing brand or a type of coat?
It's a brand. Trench made licensed sports apparel, and every piece we get under the name is a printed team t-shirt rather than outerwear. If it's coats you're after, browse vintage jackets.
Is cracking in the print a fault?
Not usually. Screen prints from the 80s and 90s crack and soften as they age, and most people consider it part of the shirt. Anything flaking or missing gets described and photographed separately.
Why are there so few pieces?
Trench shirts turn up now and then rather than regularly, so this collection stays small and grows in bursts. Worth checking back rather than assuming what's here today is all there'll be.
